Granite Works

Granite – a natural stone formed when molten magma solidifies and is subjected to extreme pressure over millions of years deep beneath the earth’s surface.  Once excavated, sliced into sheets and thoroughly polished, granite looks elegant and is extremely durable, making it an exceptional work surface that has been used in kitchen for years.

Durability

Under normal circumstances, granite countertops are resistant to scratches and stains.  Vegetables can be prepared directly on the bench top without damaging the surface.  Granite withstands higher temperatures than other bench top materials.  Heated pans and dishes can be placed on the surface and should not damage the granite.

Easy Care – granite does not require any special maintenance other than cleaning with warm water to retain the attractive, hygienic and highly polished finish indefinitely.

Compared with marble, granite is a much harder stone which makes it a strong and naturally durable stone.  Granite is not reactive to acids and can only be scratched by materials which are harder than granite.
